Well… this past week was a rollercoaster. 🎢
I thought setting up the financial backend for pcSHOWme would be simple. I chose Wave. it looked convenient, widely recommended, and from looking intol it I figured it would just work.
Within 48 hours, everything vanished.
I had my accounts linked, transactions imported, fully set up… and then gone. Support? Slow, dismissive, and stuck on blaming “user error” even with screenshots proving otherwise.
So I pulled the plug.
I switched to Xero, and wow, the difference is night and day. Smooth bank connections, clear reconciliation, no drama. Sometimes you don’t realize how bad a tool is until you move to one that actually works.
💡 Lessons learned:
✅ Don’t waste energy on a sinking ship, move on.
✅ Always keep screenshots/backups.
✅ Trust is everything when handing over your business data.
✅ Even a detour can lead you to something better.
It was frustrating, yes, but also a reminder that the bumps in the road teach you just as much (if not more) than the smooth stretches. And now that it’s handled, I’m back to focusing on what really matters… like the upcoming Power in Kindness video that I can’t wait to share with you all. 🙌
Have you ever had a tool or service completely let you down? Did it lead you to something better?
